Vibrant Performance 1140 2.25" Ultra Quiet Resonator — T304 Stainless, True Straight-Through, Low-Drone

The Vibrant Performance 1140 2.25" Ultra Quiet Resonator reduces exhaust noise while preserving smooth, unrestricted flow through its T304 stainless steel straight-through core.

If you want quieter exhaust tones without sacrificing performance, this Vibrant resonator offers a compact, durable solution. Built with marine-grade T304 stainless steel and a perforated "true straight through" core wrapped in sound-absorbing media, the unit minimizes drone and harsh frequencies while maintaining free-flowing exhaust gas passage. Its 2.25" inlet and outlet make it suitable for many custom and replacement exhaust systems where space and sound control matter.

How does this resonator lower cabin or road noise?

The resonator targets and attenuates mid- to high-frequency exhaust pulses that typically cause drone and rasp. Sound energy passes through the perforated core into acoustic packing, which dissipates noise without forcing gases through restrictive bends, so you get quieter operation with minimal backpressure increase.

• Perforated true straight-through core disperses sound waves
• Acoustic packing absorbs disruptive frequencies
• Linear flow path avoids performance-robbing restrictions

Will this fit my 2.25" exhaust system and withstand heat?

Yes — the resonator is engineered for 2.25" inlet and outlet pipes and constructed from T304 stainless steel for long-term corrosion and heat resistance. The overall and body dimensions let you verify fitment in tight mid-pipe or underbody locations before installation.

• Inlet/outlet diameter: 2.25" for direct piping connection
• Body dimensions: 6.5" x 4.75" (width) and 9.75" (length)
• Overall length: 13.75" to account for weld-on or clamp installation

How does the "True Straight Through" design affect performance?

The straight-through perforated core prioritizes minimal flow disruption, so exhaust gases pass with low resistance while sound energy escapes into the surrounding packing. That balance reduces unwanted noise without creating significant backpressure that can hinder throttle response or horsepower.

• Perforated tube allows gas flow and sound transmission to packing
• Low-restriction path preserves engine breathing characteristics
• Durable construction maintains shape and flow at high temperatures

What are the construction and durability highlights?

The resonator uses T304 stainless steel for the shell and internal components to resist corrosion from road salt, moisture, and exhaust byproducts. The acoustic materials are selected to remain effective across typical automotive exhaust temperatures, giving consistent noise control over time.

• T304 stainless steel resists rust and retains strength under heat
• Acoustic packing chosen for long-term sound attenuation
• Welded construction designed for inline exhaust mounting

Who is this for? The Vibrant 1140 2.25" Ultra Quiet Resonator is aimed at car and truck owners, custom exhaust builders, and performance enthusiasts who want to reduce cabin or road noise without sacrificing free-flowing exhaust. It's ideal for mid-pipe installations on street cars, daily drivers, and light-duty trucks where compact size, corrosion resistance, and effective drone reduction are priorities. If you need a simple, durable resonator to tune tone and eliminate unwanted frequencies while keeping exhaust flow efficient, this unit is a practical choice.
