VIVOHOME Refrigerant Leak Detector — HVAC Rechargeable Battery, 15.8-inch Probe & LCD Alerts

The VIVOHOME HVAC Refrigerant Freon Leak Detector is a handheld, rechargeable sniffer that quickly locates low-level refrigerant leaks across a wide range of refrigerants with adjustable sensitivity and audible/visual alerts.

Designed for HVAC technicians, automotive mechanics, and facility maintenance teams, this compact leak detector combines fast response with long runtime and versatile refrigerant compatibility. Its 30-second warm-up, three sensitivity settings, and a 15.8-inch flexible probe let you inspect tight spaces while the large LCD and audible alarm clarify leak intensity. Built-in reset and peak-hold functions help separate background contamination from active leaks so you can pinpoint the source faster.

How quickly and reliably will it detect small refrigerant leaks?

The detector offers three sensitivity levels and can register leaks as small as 0.03 oz/year at its highest setting, with a response time of about three seconds. A brief 30-second warm-up prepares the sensor for scanning, and the peak-hold records the maximum reading for easier localization.

• Maximum sensitivity: 0.03 oz./yr for tiny leaks
• Warm-up time: ~30 seconds
• Response time: ~3 seconds
• Peak hold: captures highest detected concentration

What alerts and displays tell me where the leak is?

When refrigerant is detected, the unit alerts with a beeping alarm and a colored bar on the LCD to indicate intensity: green for none, yellow for moderate, and red for high. A mute button lets you silence the beep while retaining visual feedback for quiet inspections.

• Audible alarm with mute option
• Color-coded LCD bar for immediate intensity readout
• 2.8-inch screen for clearer readings
• Visual and audible cues combined for fast confirmation

Can it handle different refrigerants and hard-to-reach areas?

This VIVOHOME detector is compatible with a broad range of refrigerants—CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs, HFOs, hydrocarbons, blends, and many PFCs—making it suitable for modern HVAC and older systems. The 15.8-inch flexible probe accesses cramped or recessed fittings so you can inspect valves, evaporators, or piping runs with confidence.

• Compatible with R12, R22, R134a, R410a, R1234, R290, and many more
• 15.8-inch probe for tight access and precise positioning
• Useful on residential, commercial, and automotive systems

How long will the battery last and does it meet industry standards?

The unit houses a 3000 mAh rechargeable battery that supports up to six hours of continuous use on a charge and an expected service life of up to 300 hours. Low power draw extends runtime and durability, and the detector conforms to SAE J2791 and SAE J2913 guidelines for performance.

• 3000 mAh built-in rechargeable battery
• Up to 6 hours continuous operation per charge
• Rated for up to ~300 operational hours
• Meets SAE J2791 and J2913 standards

Who is this for? The VIVOHOME HVAC Refrigerant Freon Leak Detector is ideal for HVAC contractors, auto technicians, building maintenance crews, and DIYers who need a dependable, portable tool to find refrigerant leaks quickly. If you want adjustable sensitivity, a long-lasting rechargeable battery, and broad refrigerant compatibility in a single handheld unit, this detector provides a professional-grade inspection solution without complicated setup.
