Wix 49012 Engine Air Filter for Subaru 2004–2019 — Direct-Fit, Reinforced Pleats

WIX 49012 is a direct-fit engine air filter built to trap contaminants and protect Subaru engines from road dust and debris.

This WIX replacement air filter is engineered for reliable filtration and a precise seal in compatible Subaru models from 2004 through 2019. Designed with reinforced pleats and stabilization beads, the element increases dust-holding capacity while maintaining airflow. The body uses heat-resistant plastisol and pliable top and bottom seals for an accurate fit that helps prevent bypass. Regular replacement keeps your intake system cleaner and supports ongoing engine performance as part of scheduled maintenance.

Which Subaru vehicles does this filter fit?

WIX 49012 is manufactured to match OEM dimensions for a range of Subaru applications across model years 2004–2019. Fitment depends on engine and intake configuration—always confirm compatibility with your VIN or vehicle details before purchasing.

• Intended for select Subaru models produced between 2004 and 2019
• Designed to match original equipment dimensions and sealing surfaces
• Use the part-finder or enter vehicle details to verify fitment

How does this filter protect the engine without restricting airflow?

The element balances filtration efficiency and airflow using embossed pleats and stabilization beads that maintain the media shape under airflow. This structure traps more particles across the surface area while still allowing necessary intake volume for normal engine operation.

• Embossed pleats increase usable surface area for dirt capture
• Pleat stabilization beads prevent collapse and preserve airflow paths
• Media optimized to hold contaminants while maintaining intake flow

What materials and construction features ensure a proper seal and durability?

WIX builds this filter with heat-resistant plastisol and pliable sealing walls on the top and bottom to create a tight, reliable fit in the filter housing. These materials help the filter resist temperature changes and maintain a secure seal to reduce the risk of unfiltered air bypassing the element.

• Heat-resistant plastisol construction for dimensional stability
• Pliable top and bottom seals conform to housing surfaces for an accurate seal
• Reinforced element design for long-term durability under typical operating conditions

When should I replace this air filter and how do I check it?

Air filter replacement intervals vary by driving conditions, but routine inspection is recommended at scheduled services. Replace the filter when it appears heavily soiled, damaged, or according to the vehicle manufacturer’s maintenance schedule to support proper engine operation.

• Inspect during regular service intervals and after extended dusty driving
• Replace if pleats are clogged, torn, or seals are compromised
• Refer to your vehicle owner’s manual for manufacturer-recommended intervals
