Which engines and machines does this coil work with?

This coil is made to fit specific Kohler engine models across CH and CV series—examples include CH11, CH13, CH14, CV13S, CV15S, CV460S and CV490S. It is also cross-referenced to certain Toro, John Deere and Craftsman mower models, but compatibility depends on the exact part number and engine variant.

• Direct Kohler part replacements: 12 584 04, 12 584 01-S and related codes.
• Toro compatible models: 72052, 72200, 73450, 74701 and others listed.
• John Deere examples: L110, GT225, LT133, LT155, LX173 and similar models.
• Always verify the original part number and compare photos before ordering.

How do I install the YAMAKATO ignition coil on my mower?

Installation follows standard small-engine ignition coil replacement: disconnect the battery, remove the engine shroud, unmount the old coil, set the correct air gap, and secure the new coil. The package includes a 0.3 mm feeler gauge to help set the specified gap and a spare spark plug for a complete tune-up.

• Safety first: disconnect spark lead and battery before starting.
• Use the supplied 0.3 mm feeler gauge to set the coil gap accurately.
• Torque mounting bolts to manufacturer specs and reconnect all leads.
• Test by pulling starter cord or cranking with the spark lead connected once reassembled.

What are the key features and quality assurances?

YAMAKATO labels this product as 3A Quality — Accurate, Advanced, Assured — reflecting production through experienced manufacturing partners. The coil is dimensioned and wired to match the original equipment's operating characteristics and is supplied with accessories to simplify installation.

• Meant to replace OEM Kohler part numbers and several aftermarket codes.
• Manufactured with partner facilities familiar with established small-engine brands.
• Includes a replacement spark plug and feeler gauge for on-the-spot setup.
• Meets electrical and mechanical fitment for specified engine models.

Will this work if my engine code is similar but not exact?

Because Kohler and small-engine platforms use many closely related part numbers, some engines with near-identical codes will accept this coil while others will not. It is essential to check your original part number, compare images and confirm model compatibility before purchase to ensure correct fit and performance.

• Compare the old coil's part number and mounting pattern with product photos.
• Check engine model and displacement against the listed Kohler series models.
• Contact support with photos if you're unsure about fitment.

Who this is for: This ignition coil is intended for owners and technicians who maintain lawn tractors, riding mowers and small engines equipped with listed Kohler CH and CV-series motors or compatible Toro, John Deere and Craftsman models. It suits DIY mechanics wanting a full replacement kit (coil, spark plug, feeler gauge) and professional repair shops that need a reliable direct-fit part alternative to OEM Kohler coils. Always verify the part number and visual fit before installing to avoid incompatibility.
