3M Hand-Masker FB12 12-Inch Replacement Blade — Stainless Steel with Plastic Guard for M3000

The 3M Hand-Masker FB12 is a 12-inch stainless-steel replacement blade that attaches to the M3000 dispenser to deliver a consistent straight cut through masking film, paper, or plastic.

When masking large surfaces for painting or protection, a dependable cutting edge saves time and reduces waste. The FB12 blade from 3M is built for use with the M3000 Hand-Masker system and provides a durable, sharp edge, a plastic guard for safe handling, and an assembly that aligns with the roll to produce repeatable straight cuts up to 12 inches wide.

How does this blade improve masking accuracy on large jobs?

The FB12 is engineered to sit at the roll edge and guide film into a clean shear, eliminating the need to trim irregular edges by hand. Its stainless-steel edge stays sharper longer, helping you place precise protective perimeters quickly.

• 12-inch cutting width to match wide rolls of masking film
• Rigid assembly aligns blade with the film for repeatable straight cuts
• Sharp stainless-steel edge reduces tearing and jagged edges
• Plastic blade guard enables safe mount and storage between uses

Will this blade fit my existing M3000 Hand-Masker dispenser?

The FB12 blade is designed specifically for compatibility with the 3M M3000 Hand-Masker system, making swap-in replacement straightforward. Installation is simple and requires no specialty tools beyond the usual dispenser assembly steps.

• Direct fit for 3M M3000 Hand-Masker dispensers
• Includes the blade assembly part that mounts to the roll end
• One blade per pack — useful as a spare or for quick replacement

What materials and safety features does the FB12 offer?

The blade is forged from stainless steel for corrosion resistance and edge retention when slicing film, paper, or thin plastic. A molded plastic guard covers the cutting edge for safer handling and storage, minimizing accidental nicks during transport or installation.

• Durable stainless-steel construction for long-lasting performance
• Plastic blade guard included for safer handling and storage
• Designed to cut film, paper, and thin plastic up to a 12" width

How does using a dedicated film blade save time and reduce waste?

A reliable blade produces uniform cuts so masking film lays flat with clean edges, which shortens setup and teardown time and reduces the need for re-trimming. Consistent cutting also prevents uneven overlaps and wasted material from irregular shears.

• Fewer retouches and less trimming at the jobsite
• Smoother application of film with reduced creasing and folding
• Minimizes wasted film from jagged or inaccurate cuts

Who is this for: The 3M Hand-Masker FB12 blade is intended for professional painters, contractors, and DIYers who use the M3000 dispenser or similar rolling maskers and need a precision replacement blade. It’s particularly useful on larger jobs where wide, straight cuts speed up masking and protect adjacent surfaces efficiently.
