Camco PowerGrip 12-inch Dogbone Electrical Adapter 30A to 15A with Handle, 10/3 Copper

Camco PowerGrip 12" Dogbone Adapter converts a 30-amp campground pedestal to a 15-amp RV inlet with a heavy-duty, easy-grip handle. The Camco PowerGrip 12" Dogbone Electrical Adapter is a compact, durable solution for connecting 15-amp RVs to 30-amp shore power pedestals. Built with 10/3 gauge, 100% copper conductors and a heat-resistant PVC jacket, this adapter prioritizes reliable conductivity and weather protection. Its 90-degree molded ends and the patented PowerGrip handle reduce strain on the connection and make plugging or unplugging quicker and safer at campsites.

How does this adapter fit between a campground outlet and my RV?

The adapter features a 30-amp male NEMA TT-30P plug that inserts into campground 30A pedestals and a 15-amp female NEMA 5-15R socket to accept your RV's 15A cord. It’s a short 12-inch cord designed for temporary adaptations rather than permanent wiring changes.

• 30A male (NEMA TT-30P) to 15A female (NEMA 5-15R)
• Rated 125 volts / 1875 watts
• 12-inch length for compact, tidy connections
• 10/3 gauge, 100% copper conductors for consistent power flow

Is the PowerGrip handle and jacket robust enough for outdoor use?

Yes — the adapter uses a heavy-duty, flame-retardant PVC sheath that resists heat and outdoor wear. The molded PowerGrip handle gives you a positive grasp when plugging or removing the adapter, reducing the chance of bending or stressing the connector.

• Heat-resistant PVC sheath for weather and abrasion protection
• Patented PowerGrip handle for secure, low-force handling
• 90-degree heads to minimize cable stress at connection points
• Compact dogbone shape keeps the connection close and stable

What electrical performance and safety details should I know?

The adapter is constructed with 100% copper conductors and 10/3 gauge wiring to ensure low resistance and efficient power delivery within its rated limits. It’s designed for temporary use to adapt power types and is certified for use in Canada with a limited 12-month warranty.

• 10/3 gauge, 100% copper for superior conductivity
• 125V, 1875W maximum rating — intended for short-term adaptability
• Certified for use in Canada; includes 12-month limited warranty
• Not intended to increase circuit capacity beyond pedestal rating

How will this adapter affect everyday campsite setup and teardown?

The short length and ergonomic handle speed up hookups and remove the need to stretch cords or create awkward bends. The 90-degree ends and flexible jacket help keep the connection secure during movement or light foot traffic around the pedestal.

• Quick plug/unplug with the PowerGrip handle
• Less cable clutter thanks to the dogbone’s 12" profile
• Reduced strain on plugs because of 90-degree molded ends
• Durable jacket for repeated campsite use

This adapter is for RV owners who need to temporarily adapt a 30-amp campground outlet to a 15-amp RV inlet without rewiring or complex gear. It’s a practical choice for weekend campers, seasonal travelers, or anyone who wants a rugged, easy-to-use connector that prioritizes conductivity and stress relief at the plug point. Avoid using it to exceed the pedestal’s amperage; instead, match the adapter’s rated limits to your RV’s power needs for safe, reliable campsite hookups.
