Camco RV Dogbone Adapter 15A-to-50A (12") with PowerGrip Handle and Flame-Resistant Bend

The Camco PowerGrip 12" dogbone adapter converts a 15-amp outlet into a 50-amp RV inlet with a flexible, flame-resistant cable and an ergonomic handle for easy, low-strain hookups.

When your RV requires a 50-amp inlet but the available shore power is only a standard 15-amp receptacle, this compact adapter bridges the gap so you can still use essential systems and small appliances. Built with 100% copper conductors, a heat- and flame-resistant PVC jacket, and a PowerGrip handle, it’s designed for routine campground and home use where temporary, lower-wattage connection is acceptable. The adapter is ETL certified and backed by a 12-month limited warranty.

How does this adapter protect my cords and connections?

The Camco dogbone features a heavy-duty PVC jacket that resists heat, flame and outdoor wear, reducing the chance of abrasion or exposure damage. The cable’s flexible construction also helps prevent sharp bends that can damage conductors over time.

• Flame-retardant, heat-resistant PVC outer sheath for weather protection.
• 10/3 gauge, 100% copper wires for improved conductivity and durability.
• 90° heads and an innovative bend profile to reduce strain at connector points.

Will this work safely with my 50-amp RV equipment?

This adapter allows a 50-amp RV to draw power from a 15-amp source but is limited to 125 volts and 1875 watts, so it’s intended for minimal or selective appliance use rather than full-load operation. Avoid running multiple high-draw systems simultaneously to prevent overloading the supply circuit.

• 15-amp male (NEMA 5-15P) to 50-amp female (NEMA 14-50R) configuration.
• Rated 125V / 1875W — suitable for lights, small appliances, and limited charging.
• Not a substitute for a true 50-amp shore power connection for high-demand systems.

How does the PowerGrip handle and bend design help during hookups?

The molded PowerGrip handle gives a secure surface to pull or push the connectors, cutting down on wrist strain and the risk of damaging plugs. The adapter’s angled design keeps the cord out of the way and reduces stress on the ends when space is tight or pedestals are close to the RV body.

• Ergonomic handle for easier plugging and unplugging without twisting or jerking.
• Compact 12-inch length for tidy storage and minimal trip hazard.
• Angled heads lessen connector strain in cramped hookups.

What certifications and build details should I know?

Camco constructed this adapter with safety and conductivity in mind: solid copper wiring and third-party ETL certification confirm it meets electrical standards for consumer use. The unit also comes with a limited 12-month warranty for added buyer confidence.

• 100% copper conductors, 10/3 gauge for reliable current flow.
• ETL certified to recognized safety standards.
• Includes a 12-month limited warranty from Camco.

Who is this for: RV owners who occasionally need to connect a 50-amp coach to a common 15-amp outlet—campers staying at sites with limited power, homeowners testing systems, or anyone wanting a compact, durable adapter for low-load situations. If you require full 50-amp service for multiple high-draw appliances (air conditioning, electric water heater, ovens), choose a proper 50-amp supply instead; for short-term, light-duty needs, this PowerGrip dogbone is a convenient, safe option.
