Chemical Guys Galactic Black Wet-Look Tire Shine, Deep Black 1 Gallon — Long-Lasting, Low-Sling Finish

Chemical Guys Galactic Black Wet Look Tire Shine is a concentrated, long-lasting dressing that restores deep black shine to tires without greasy residue.

Galactic Black from Chemical Guys is formulated to quickly revive faded sidewalls and deliver a wet, showroom-style appearance. This 1-gallon size is ideal for enthusiasts, professional detailers, and fleet maintenance because it offers economy and consistent results. The formula spreads evenly, adheres to rubber, and is designed to resist sling while providing a dark, saturated finish.

How does Galactic Black achieve a deep, wet look without leaving oily residue?

The dressing uses a balanced blend of polymers and silicones that lock into the rubber surface and level out for a uniform shine. It dries to a controlled sheen so tires look freshly dressed rather than slick with product.

• Polymer-rich formulation for even coverage and adhesion
• Fast leveling action prevents streaks and pooling
• Dries to a wet-looking finish with minimal sling

How should I apply this 1-gallon tire shine for best results?

For consistent results, work in small sections and apply with an applicator pad or sprayer designed for tire dressings. Allow a few minutes to set, then buff lightly with a microfiber towel if you want reduced gloss or faster curing.

• Use a soft foam applicator or low-pressure sprayer
• Apply thin, even coats—one or two passes usually suffice
• Wipe excess after 5–10 minutes to reduce sling on hot tires

How long will the shine last, and how weather-resistant is it?

Longevity varies with driving conditions, surface prep, and number of coats; most users see several washes of visible shine. The formula is designed to resist light rain and road grime better than basic water-based dressings, yet periodic reapplication maintains peak appearance.

• Resists light rain and road spray better than water-only products
• Lasts through multiple short drives under normal conditions
• Reapply after heavy washing or intensive road exposure

What preparation does a tire need before applying Galactic Black?

Clean tires thoroughly to remove old dressings, grease, and brake dust so the new product bonds properly. Use a dedicated tire cleaner and brush, rinse well, and let the tire dry completely before dressing.

• Degrease and scrub sidewalls with a tire-specific cleaner
• Rinse and let tires dry fully for best adhesion
• Mask wheel rims if you want to avoid overspray or residue
