Dream lighting 6" Oval 12V Motion Sensor LED Light for RVs — 300 lm, 3500K Neutral with 3-Way Switch

Dream lighting's 6-inch oval 12V motion sensor LED is a surface-mount RV interior light with a three-way switch that delivers bright, efficient dome and porch illumination while letting you enable or disable the motion sensor.

This compact 12-volt fixture is built for vans, RVs, campers and other vehicle interiors where a low-profile, reliable LED replaces older halogen pancake lamps. The integrated motion detector and three-position switch give you flexible control—choose always-on, sensor-activated, or fully off—while the polycarbonate lens provides even, soft light across a small cabin or entryway.

How bright is this 6-inch oval LED for an RV cabin?

The lamp produces up to about 300 lumens, with a neutral 3500K color temperature that reads clearer than traditional warm white cabin lights. The PC diffuser reduces hotspots and spreads light evenly for reading, cooking, or pathway illumination.

• Rated output: ~300 lumens for compact interior coverage
• Color temperature: 3500K for neutral, natural light
• PC lens for soft, uniform light distribution
• Works well as dome, porch, or ceiling light in smaller spaces

What control and sensor options does the fixture offer?

Dream lighting built a three-way integrated switch that toggles between sensor on, sensor off, and full off positions so you can avoid unwanted activations or conserve battery power. When motion detection is active the lamp automatically turns on whether day or night; the manual switch lets you lock the sensor out when preferred.

• Three-position switch: sensor enabled, sensor disabled, off
• Motion sensor triggers automatic on with movement
• Manual override prevents unwanted power use or late-night activations

How easy is installation and what wiring should I prepare?

This surface-mount fixture is sized for simple ceiling or wall attachment inside vehicles and other 12V DC spaces. It requires standard 12V DC wiring: one positive and one negative lead; the instructions note that some installations may need the black and white wires reversed if the lamp does not power on initially.

• Surface-mounted housing for quick attachment with screws
• Hard-wired to 12V DC systems; black = positive, white = negative (reverse if needed)
• Compact 6-inch oval form fits most interior locations

How durable and serviceable is the light for long-term use?

The housing and lens use fire-resistant polycarbonate and the LED array benefits from efficient heat dissipation for long life. Expect extended diode life and a robust fixture suited to vehicle vibration and repeated on/off cycles, with straightforward troubleshooting notes included.

• Fire-resistant PC materials for safety and durability
• Thermal design extends LED life up to approximately 30,000 hours
• Simple wiring guidance and manual override for reliability

Who is this for? This 6-inch Dream lighting oval LED is ideal for RV and camper owners, van lifers, fleet vehicle upfitters, and anyone upgrading older 12V halogen dome lights. Choose it if you need a compact, energy-efficient interior or entry light with motion activation and a manual switch for flexible, low-maintenance cabin illumination.
