The Fieldpiece VP87 is a professional, portable 8 CFM vacuum pump with a ¾ HP DC motor and the RunQuick Oil Management System for fast, clean evacuations on modern HVAC systems.

Built for service techs who need reliable evacuation speed, low maintenance, and compatibility with today’s refrigerants, the VP87 combines high pumping capacity with features that reduce downtime and mess. It pairs a powerful DC motor with Fieldpiece’s RunQuick oil change system and ships with two 8 oz bottles of pump oil so you can start work immediately. Designed for portability and A2L refrigerant compatibility, the VP87 is meant to handle residential and light-commercial evacuations with professional performance.

How fast and powerful is this vacuum pump for typical HVAC evacuations?

The VP87 delivers 8 CFM (cubic feet per minute) pumping speed, driven by a ¾ HP DC motor engineered for efficient startup and sustained performance. That CFM rating gives technicians quicker deep vacuum times on most linesets compared with lower-capacity pumps, improving job turnover.

• 8 CFM pumping speed for faster evacuation of systems
• ¾ HP DC motor for strong, consistent torque and quicker pull-downs
• Suitable for residential and lighter commercial systems
• Designed to reach industry-relevant deep vacuum levels

What does the RunQuick Oil Management System do and why does it matter?

RunQuick simplifies oil changes and reduces mess by containing oil swaps inside a sealed cartridge system so you don’t drain and pour from the pump housing. Cleaner oil handling means less contamination risk, faster maintenance between jobs, and reduced downtime for technicians moving from one service call to the next.

• Sealed RunQuick cartridge system for fast, tidy oil replacement
• Includes two 8 oz bottles so you can start immediately
• Limits oil exposure to contaminants, preserving pump life
• Reduces on-site cleanup and waste handling time

Is the VP87 compatible with modern refrigerants like A2L blends?

The VP87 is built to meet the needs of contemporary refrigerant servicing, including A2L refrigerants that require careful handling due to low flammability. Its design and materials support safe evacuation practices; always follow refrigerant manufacturer guidance and local codes when working with A2L blends.

• A2L-compatible design considerations for low-flammability blends
• Portable form factor eases transport between job sites
• Use with appropriate hoses, manifolds, and safety procedures
• Recommended for technicians trained on A2L service practices

How portable and service-friendly is the pump for daily field use?

The VP87 is engineered for field technicians: a compact chassis, integrated handle, and straightforward oil management keep it jobsite-ready. The RunQuick system and included oil reduce prep time, while the DC motor offers efficient starts on typical jobsite power sources or in variable conditions.

• Compact, lightweight design for easy carrying and storage
• Integrated handle and durable housing for rugged field use
• RunQuick reduces maintenance time between calls
• Comes with two 8 oz oils so you can begin work immediately

Who this pump is for: The Fieldpiece VP87 is targeted at HVAC service professionals and contractors who need a dependable, fast 8 CFM vacuum pump that simplifies oil maintenance and supports modern refrigerants including A2L blends. It’s a strong choice for technicians handling frequent evacuations, for both residential and light-commercial projects, who value portability, quick oil changes, and a robust DC motor.
