KLEAN-STRIP Bulldog Adhesion Promoter for Plastic, Metal & Aluminum — 1 Quart, Quick‑Dry Tack‑Free

Klean-Strip Bulldog Adhesion Promoter is a ready-to-use, quick-dry primer that improves paint adhesion on plastics, metals, and aluminum while filling fine scratches up to 320 grit.

When you need stronger paint bonds and faster prep, this one-quart adhesion promoter from Klean-Strip is formulated for automotive plastics (TPO, polypropylene, SMC), pre-painted metals, fiberglass and aluminum. It arrives pre-mixed so you can spray immediately, dries tack-free in about five minutes, and stays active for up to 24 hours to give you flexible scheduling on multi-step jobs.

How fast will it let me get back to painting?

Bulldog Adhesion Promoter is designed to minimize wait time on paint prep. It dries to a tack-free state in roughly five minutes and remains effective for up to 24 hours, so you can plan short windows or prep work the day before painting.

• Tack-free dry time: approximately 5 minutes under normal shop conditions
• Active window: up to 24 hours before recoat is recommended
• No on-site mixing reduces setup delays
• Light recoat recommended if surface is left longer than 24 hours

Which materials and surfaces does it bond to well?

This promoter targets difficult-to-paint substrates commonly found in automotive repair and restoration. It’s effective on plastic body panels, pre-painted metals, aluminum, and fiberglass, giving a dependable base for basecoats and clearcoats.

• Automotive plastics: TPO, polypropylene, SMC
• Pre-painted metal panels and aluminum parts
• Fiberglass bodywork and composite components
• Improves edge wetting and color consistency when topcoated

Do I need to mix or thin the product before use?

No mixing is required — Bulldog comes ready to spray straight from the quart. It’s tintable and can be incorporated into basecoat or clearcoat systems to help flexibility and flake orientation, but follow the Technical Data Sheet for compatible additives and ratios.

• Pre-mixed quart for immediate application
• Tintable for color matching or special effects
• Compatible for limited blending into basecoat and clearcoat for flexibility
• Consult Technical Data Sheet for storage and handling guidance

What surface defects does it address and how should I prep?

Beyond adhesion, the formula helps fill fine sanding scratches up to 320 grit, smoothing substrate micro-texture and promoting uniform topcoat appearance. Proper surface cleaning and light sanding remain important for best results.

• Fills 320 grit scratches to reduce visible defects before topcoat
• Recommended prep: clean, decontaminate, and degrease surfaces first
• Light scuffing or sanding prior to application improves mechanical bite
• Recoat or topcoat within 24 hours for optimal bond; tack and reapply a light coat if left longer

Who is this for: Klean-Strip Bulldog Adhesion Promoter suits professional body shops, restoration specialists, and automotive enthusiasts who need a fast, reliable promoter for challenging substrates. It’s also useful for small repair bays and DIYers tackling plastic bumpers, aluminum trim, and fiberglass parts who want a no-mix, quick-dry solution that supports consistent color and finish quality.
