KLEAN-STRIP Bulldog Adhesion Promoter for Polyolefin Plastics — 15 oz Aerosol, Quick-Dry & Fills 320-Grit Scratches

Klean-Strip Bulldog Adhesion Promoter is a 15 oz aerosol specially formulated to prime polyolefin plastics, fill 320-grit sanding scratches, and deliver a tack-free surface in about five minutes for reliable paint bonding.

Preparing plastic components for paint can be time-consuming and uncertain. Klean-Strip Bulldog Adhesion Promoter simplifies that step by offering a quick-drying, ready-to-spray solution engineered for polyolefin plastics (commonly used in bumpers and trim). Its formulation helps wet out difficult surfaces, improves flake orientation and color consistency, and stays active up to 24 hours so you can prep ahead without rushing the rest of the job.

How quickly does this adhesion promoter dry and become paint-ready?

Bulldog is designed for speed. After spraying, it flashes off to a tack-free finish in roughly five minutes under normal temperature conditions, allowing follow-up coatings soon after application.

• Approximate tack-free time: 5 minutes
• Clear drying—keeps appearance neutral for inspection
• Remains active up to 24 hours to accommodate next-step scheduling

Which plastic types and coatings is it compatible with?

This promoter targets polyolefin plastics, which are often difficult for conventional paints to bond to. It supports a wide range of topcoats and primers so you can pair it with your preferred automotive or industrial finishes.

• Optimized for polyolefin plastics (bumpers, trim panels)
• Compatible with acrylic lacquers, basecoats, epoxies, primers, sealers, and solvent-based urethanes
• Works well for melt-in and edge-wetting applications

Will it reduce sanding time and fix minor surface imperfections?

Yes—the product is formulated to fill fine sanding scratches left by 320-grit paper, which can cut down on extra sanding steps. That makes it useful when you need a smoother substrate quickly without reworking the entire panel.

• Fills fine 320-grit scratches to improve surface uniformity
• Saves labor by minimizing repetitive sanding cycles
• Leaves an even surface that promotes consistent paint laydown and flake orientation

How should I store and plan jobs using the aerosol can?

The 15 oz aerosol arrives ready to use and stores easily. Keep cans sealed and stored according to label instructions; shelf life is about two years when unopened and stored properly.

• Convenient 15-ounce aerosol for small to medium tasks
• Shelf life up to 2 years if stored as directed
• Active window up to 24 hours after application for flexible scheduling

Who is this for? Klean-Strip Bulldog Adhesion Promoter is aimed at automotive technicians, body shops, and DIYers who work with polyolefin plastic components and need a reliable, fast-acting promoter to improve adhesion and finish quality. It’s particularly helpful for small repairs, bumper and trim refinishes, and any project where reducing sanding and speeding turnaround without sacrificing adhesion or color consistency matters. Use it as part of a standard paint-prep workflow along with compatible primers and topcoats for best results.
