The Lisle 68210 IPR Socket is a purpose-built 3/8" drive tool that safely removes and installs the injector pressure regulator (IPR) on Ford 6.0L, International and compatible diesel engines without stressing the electrical connector.
The IPR sits in a confined area on many diesel engines, making standard sockets awkward or damaging to the regulator or its wiring. Lisle designed the 68210 to reach the regulator hex, bottom out on the part, and transfer torque through the socket body so the electrical connector can be left in place and, if undamaged, reused. This compact, black finished tool is for use with a 3/8" square drive and fits a range of diesel applications — note it isn't compatible with 7.3L motors.
The socket slides over the IPR and seats on the regulator hex so the driver applies torque to the part itself instead of pulling on the wiring or connector. Its length and internal profile are matched to reach tight pockets without forcing the connector out or twisting fragile components.
This Lisle socket was made for Ford 6.0L diesels and several International and other diesel engines that use the same-style injector pressure regulator. It is not a universal replacement for every diesel — specifically, it does not fit 7.3L motors.
The Lisle 68210 is built for a 3/8" square drive. Use a 3/8" ratchet or breaker bar that gives you controlled torque in a cramped engine bay. Extensions or universal joints can help reach the regulator, but avoid excessive leverage that could stress surrounding components.
Constructed for professional and DIY use, the 68210's compact profile and finish withstand repeated service work. Because it engages the hex directly and avoids loading the connector, it reduces the chance of accidental component damage that can lead to extra repairs.
Who is this for: The Lisle 68210 IPR Socket suits mechanics, fleet technicians, and experienced DIYers who service Ford 6.0L diesels or compatible International engines and need a safe, compact tool to remove or install injector pressure regulators without stressing the electrical connector. It is ideal when space is limited and preserving reusable components is important. Note: if you work primarily with 7.3L motors, this tool will not fit those IPRs.
Q: Can I use this socket with a 1/2" drive?
A: No, the Lisle 68210 is designed for 3/8" square drives only.
Q: Will this tool work on a Ford 7.3L diesel?
A: No, the tool does not fit 7.3L motors; it’s for 6.0L and compatible diesel IPRs.
