Loctite Marine-Grade Anti-Seize Paste 8 oz — High-Temp Protection (-20°F to 2400°F), Corrosion-Resistant

This heavy-duty paste combines corrosion resistance and high-temperature stability so threaded fasteners, pipe joints, and flanged connections slide apart cleanly after long service or extreme heat exposure. Formulated for steel compatibility and often specified for marine, pulp-and-paper, and industrial pump applications, the product lays down a dry, lubricious film when heated that reduces metal-to-metal contact and eases future maintenance.

How does this anti-seize protect parts in salty or wet environments?

Loctite 299175 contains corrosion-inhibiting ingredients that block galvanic attack and prevent rust from taking hold where different metals meet. The paste provides a barrier that resists water washout and maintains separation under cyclic wet/dry conditions commonly found in marine or coastal locations.

• Formulated as a marine-grade product for saltwater exposure.
• Creates a water-resistant layer that minimizes electrochemical corrosion.
• Reduces crevice corrosion on flanges and fasteners.
• Suitable for outdoor and damp industrial settings.

What temperature range and thermal behavior can I expect?

This lubricant functions across a very wide service range, from -20°F up to 2400°F, making it suitable for both low-temperature storage and very high-temperature operations. When subjected to heat, the carrier components evaporate and leave a stable, dry lubricant film that resists metal welding and seizing under thermal cycling.

• Operational range: -20°F to 2400°F (-29°C to 1316°C).
• Dries into a stable film on heating to maintain lubricity.
• Designed to withstand repeated temperature spikes without breakdown.

Where is this paste typically applied and how does it ease service?

Use Loctite 299175 on threaded fasteners, pipe joints, pump flanges, gaskets, and other metal interfaces where future disassembly is required. By preventing bonding and galling, it lowers torque needed for removal and reduces time and effort during maintenance tasks.

• Ideal for bolted flange connections and valve stems.
• Recommended in pulp and paper mills, water pump assemblies, and marine hardware.
• Prevents cold welding of stainless and alloy steel threads.
• Helps ensure predictable torque readings for assembly and disassembly.

How do I apply it and what compatibility should I check?

Apply a thin, even coating to mating surfaces or threads prior to assembly; avoid excess that can attract debris. It is formulated for compatibility with steel—verify compatibility if you plan to use it on soft metals, plated surfaces, or materials with specific manufacturer restrictions.

• Clean mating surfaces of oil, dirt, and old sealants before application.
• Use a brush, spatula, or nozzle to spread a thin layer on threads or flanges.
• Check component manufacturer guidance for use on non-ferrous metals.
• Wipe away visible excess to prevent contamination of surrounding areas.

Who is this for? Loctite 299175 is aimed at professionals and maintenance teams in marine, industrial, and utility sectors who need a dependable, high-temperature anti-seize for steel assemblies. It’s also well suited to equipment owners and contractors who service pumps, pipelines, and heavy machinery where corrosion and heat are regular challenges. If you need a robust lubricant that preserves serviceability and combats galvanic corrosion across extreme temperatures, this paste is designed for that role.
