Mann Filter engine air filter C 28 125/1 — direct-fit replacement for BMW 535i/740i/X5, high-stability media

Mann Filter C 28 125/1 is a high-stability replacement engine air filter engineered to protect your BMW’s intake while helping maintain consistent performance and fuel economy.

Designed as a direct-fit replacement for multiple BMW models, this Mann Filter cartridge uses mechanically robust filter media to trap harmful particles and protect the engine’s airflow system. It’s a vehicle-specific part made to match factory dimensions so installation is straightforward. Regular replacement helps preserve the intended air/fuel ratio and can assist in restoring lost efficiency caused by clogged or degraded filters.

How does this filter help everyday driving?

This air filter keeps airborne contaminants out of the intake tract so the engine breathes cleaner air under normal road conditions. Cleaner intake air supports steady combustion and reduces the risk of deposits forming on internal components. The product also helps to quiet intake noise thanks to its design.

• Stops dust, pollen, sand, soot and moisture droplets from entering the engine.
• Stable media resists collapsing or deforming during installation and service life.
• Reduces intake noise for a quieter cabin experience.

Will this fit my BMW model and how easy is installation?

The C 28 125/1 is built as a vehicle-specific replacement for many BMW variants including 535i, 640i, 740i/740Li, ActiveHybrid 5/7, and several X-series models. It matches factory shape and size so no trimming or modification should be required. Basic hand tools and minimal mechanical experience are typically all that’s needed.

• Direct-fit design for listed BMW models—check part compatibility before purchase.
• Standard cartridge form factor for quick swap during routine maintenance.
• Installation usually requires only the airbox cover removal and filter exchange.

What performance benefits can I expect after replacing a clogged filter?

Replacing a heavily soiled filter restores unrestricted airflow and can help the engine return closer to its original running condition. While results vary by vehicle and maintenance history, improved throttle response and more consistent fuel consumption are common outcomes. The filter does not alter engine tuning but supports the intended air/fuel balance.

• May recover lost fuel efficiency caused by an obstructed air intake.
• Helps maintain stable engine performance across driving conditions.
• Consistent filtration reduces deposit formation in the intake system.

How long will this Mann Filter last and what maintenance does it need?

Service intervals depend on driving conditions: dusty environments shorten life, while mostly highway driving extends it. Inspect the filter at each scheduled service and replace it according to BMW’s maintenance recommendations or when visibly clogged. Using the correct replacement part helps avoid premature wear to downstream components.

• Replace per vehicle manufacturer schedule or sooner in dusty conditions.
• Visual inspections can identify heavy soiling or media collapse.
• Follow proper airbox sealing and reinstallation procedures to ensure performance.

Who is this for: Drivers and mechanics of BMW 535i, 640i, 740i/740Li, ActiveHybrid 5/7 and X-series models seeking a direct-fit, high-stability replacement air filter. It’s suitable for owners wanting to maintain factory airflow characteristics, reduce intake noise, and protect the engine from particulate contamination without modifying the vehicle.
