NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plugs ILZKBR7B8G (97968) — 4-Pack, Fine Iridium Electrodes & Precision-Ground Tips

NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plug ILZKBR7B8G (97968) is a genuine four-pack of high-performance iridium spark plugs engineered as a direct replacement for compatible gasoline engines.

This four-piece set contains NGK's Laser Iridium 97968 spark plugs (model ILZKBR7B8G) in original packaging and hardware. Designed and manufactured by NGK, these plugs use a fine iridium center electrode and precision-ground tip to provide reliable ignition, consistent gap stability, and long service life compared with conventional plugs. Before installation, confirm vehicle fitment with your vehicle’s specifications or use the retailer’s confirmed-fit tool to ensure correct compatibility.

How do NGK Laser Iridium plugs differ from standard spark plugs?

NGK Laser Iridium plugs use an ultra-fine iridium alloy for the center electrode, which offers improved durability and a more concentrated spark. That design helps preserve the firing gap and maintain stable combustion for longer intervals than many conventional copper or platinum plugs.

• Fine iridium center electrode for focused spark energy
• Precision-ground tip to improve ignition consistency
• Longer service life and more stable gap retention
• OEM-style fit and original NGK packaging and hardware

Will these plugs fit my car and how do I confirm compatibility?

The ILZKBR7B8G (97968) is an NGK part number that corresponds to specific engine applications. Compatibility depends on thread size, reach, resistor type, and heat range, so always verify against your vehicle’s manual or an online fitment tool provided by your seller.

• Check part number ILZKBR7B8G or NGK 97968 against your vehicle
• Use the retailer’s confirm-fit option or NGK’s catalog lookup
• Compare thread diameter and reach with existing plugs
• Confirm the required torque and gap specifications before installation

What are the practical installation and maintenance considerations?

Installation follows the same basic procedure as other spark plugs, but take care with torque and initial gap settings to avoid damaging the fine iridium tip. Iridium plugs generally require less frequent replacement, but periodic inspection during routine service remains recommended.

• Use a torque wrench and follow manufacturer torque specs
• Inspect and set the gap per vehicle requirements before fitting
• Replace in matched sets to keep engine performance balanced
• Keep old plugs for reference to confirm thread engagement and heat range

What benefits can I expect after swapping to NGK Laser Iridium plugs?

While results vary by vehicle and condition, users commonly report consistent ignition and stable idle, plus extended service intervals compared with many non-iridium plugs. Because these are genuine NGK parts, you also get OEM-quality manufacturing and packaging.

• More consistent starts and spark delivery under varied conditions
• Improved gap longevity reduces frequency of replacements
• OEM-grade manufacturing and included original hardware
• Sold as a convenient 4-pack for vehicles with four cylinders or as spares
