OEMTOOLS O-Ring & Seal Removal Pick Set — 4-Pc Short & Long Spoon/Contour Picks, Hardened Steel Black Oxide

OEMTOOLS 25429 is a four-piece O-ring and seal removal pick set with short and long spoon and contour tips built for heavy-duty automotive and mechanical work.

This compact kit groups two contoured picks and two spoon-style picks in 5.5" and 8.5" lengths so you can reach tight grooves, deep housings, and recessed seals without gouging metal surfaces. Each tool is forged from hardened steel, finished with a black oxide coating to resist corrosion, and fitted with an ergonomic rubber handle for controlled leverage during repetitive tasks. The combination of shapes and lengths lets technicians extract stubborn O-rings, gaskets, and hose seals while minimizing damage to surrounding components.

How do the different tip styles make seal removal easier?

Contour picks are curved to follow circular seals and access angled gaps, while spoon tips scoop and hook under O-rings and flat gaskets. Picking the right tip reduces slip and scraping and lets you apply consistent force to pull seals free.

• Contour picks trace seal profiles in housings and bore bores.
• Spoon tips lift and hook flat or recessed seals efficiently.
• Short (5.5") tools for tight work; long (8.5") tools for deep-reaching jobs.
• Rubber grip improves control, lowering the risk of part damage.

Will these picks protect surrounding components while removing O-rings?

The hardened steel tips provide stiffness for leverage, while the rounded spoon and contoured shapes are designed to slip under seals with minimal biting edges. Proper technique combined with the anti-corrosion black oxide finish helps preserve mating surfaces and metal housings.

• Blunt, contoured geometry avoids sharp gouging of housings.
• Black oxide finish resists rust that can contaminate assemblies.
• Ergonomic handles reduce hand fatigue and sudden slips.
• Two lengths allow safer access to both shallow and deep seals.

What tasks and parts are these tools best used for?

This set covers everyday O-ring and seal jobs across engine, brake, and transmission systems as well as general plumbing and appliance repairs where seals and gaskets must be removed without surface damage.

• Removing O-rings from shafts, housings, and valve bodies.
• Extracting hose seals, grommets, and snap-in gaskets.
• Working on brake calipers, water pumps, and transmission components.
• General shop uses like bushing or plug removal where controlled leverage is needed.

How durable are these OEMTOOLS picks for repeated professional use?

Constructed from hardened steel and finished with a protective black oxide, the set stands up to frequent use while resisting corrosion. The molded rubber grips are sized to reduce slippage during extended tasks, making this set a practical long-term addition to a technician's toolbox.

• Hardened steel shafts resist bending under leverage.
• Black oxide finish helps prevent rust and tool degradation.
• Ergonomic rubber handles sustain comfortable use over many repairs.
• Four complementary tips cover a wide range of seal types and locations.
