Orion Motor Tech 3/8" Drive 10-Piece Spark Plug Socket Set — 72-Tooth Ratchet, Magnetic Swivel Sockets

Orion Motor Tech's 10-piece 3/8" drive spark plug socket set is a complete kit that combines a 72-tooth torque ratchet with magnetic swivel sockets and accessories for fast, controlled spark plug removal in tight engine bays.

This compact toolkit is built for mechanics and DIY enthusiasts who need reliable access to spark plugs and stubborn fasteners without fumbling or overtorquing. The set pairs a fine-tooth 72-tooth ratchet that gives a 5° swing arc and audible click feedback with a collection of swivel and hex sockets, a universal joint, and a handy 10" extension. Every piece is made from heat-treated Cr-V steel and stored in a blow-molded case so the tools stay protected and ready to go.

How does the 72-tooth ratchet improve work in cramped engine compartments?

The ratchet’s 72-tooth gear lets you move the handle in very small increments, which is invaluable when space is limited. Its 5° swing arc reduces wasted motion so sockets engage quickly, and the audible click helps you sense correct torque without guessing.

• 72-tooth gear for precise incremental movement
• 5° swing arc reduces handle clearance required
• Click-sound alert for consistent force application
• 3/8" drive compatible with common socket sizes

What socket types are included and when should I use each?

This set contains 12-point magnetic spark plug sockets with 360° swivel action, multiple hex 6-point sockets for high torque, plus a universal joint and extension for awkward angles. Use the magnetic swivel sockets when retrieving plugs, hex sockets for high-torque fasteners, and the universal joint when direct alignment isn’t possible.

• Two swivel 12-point magnet sockets for spark plug extraction
• Five hex 6-point sockets for heavy torque and stubborn bolts
• Universal joint socket for angled access
• 10" extension bar for deep or recessed spark plugs

How durable and precise is the set for frequent shop use?

Components are forged from chrome-vanadium (Cr-V) steel and heat treated to resist wear and distribute load evenly. Clear size markings and the blow-molded storage tray help prevent mix-ups, while the ratchet’s fine tooth design provides long-term reliable performance for repeated cycles.

• Heat-treated Cr-V steel construction for strength
• Even force distribution to limit rounded fasteners
• Laser or stamped size markings for quick identification
• Blow-molded case for organized transport and storage

Can this set prevent overtorquing during spark plug installation?

The ratchet’s audible click and precise tooth engagement let you feel and hear torque application, which helps avoid excessive force during delicate spark plug seating. While it aids consistent torque control, use a calibrated torque wrench for manufacturer-specified final tightening.

• Click feedback signals applied force for safer tightening
• Fine tooth engagement reduces sudden torque jumps
• Designed to assist; not a replacement for a calibrated torque wrench
• Works well as a torque-control tool in the build-up and removal stages
