Red Devil Extreme Temperature HVAC/R Silicone Sealant 280 ml White — -60°F to 400°F Flexible, Weather-Resistant

Red Devil 0896 is a high-performance silicone sealant formulated for HVAC/R systems, offering durable, flexible seals that withstand temperatures from -60°F to 400°F.

Designed specifically for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration work, this Red Devil Extreme Temperature HVAC/R Silicone Sealant creates weather-resistant bonds on metal, glass, plastic and many common building surfaces. The white, 280 ml cartridge provides long-term flexibility so joints and seams resist cracking, peeling and shrinking through wide temperature swings. Made in the USA, it’s intended for both professional technicians and experienced DIYers who need a dependable seal in demanding environments.

How does this sealant perform across extreme temperatures?

The Red Devil 0896 maintains elasticity and adhesion from deep cold to very high heat, so sealed connections stay intact when systems cycle or when exposed to outdoor weather. Its temperature tolerance reduces the risk of failure when ducts, pipes or equipment heat up or freeze.

• Effective from -60°F to 400°F for HVAC/R service conditions
• Remains flexible to absorb thermal expansion and contraction
• Resists cracking and shrinkage in fluctuating climates

What surfaces will it stick to, and is surface prep important?

This silicone adheres well to a wide range of substrates commonly found in HVAC and building work, including metals and many plastics. For longest life and strongest bond, clean and dry the area first and remove old sealants, oils or loose material before applying.

• Adheres to metal, aluminum, glass, concrete, fiberglass, vinyl and many plastics
• Surface must be clean, dry and free from old caulk or debris for best results
• Compatible with typical HVAC components like ducts, vents, pipes and housings

Will this product stay flexible and durable over time?

Yes — the formulation emphasizes permanent flexibility so joints and seams can move without the seal failing. Properly applied, it resists common failure modes such as peeling, cracking or shrinking, helping maintain a weather-resistant barrier for years.

• Permanently flexible formula to accommodate joint movement
• Designed to resist peeling, cracking and shrinkage under normal conditions
• Provides a weather-resistant seal that holds up to environmental stressors

Where is it most commonly used and how do I apply it correctly?

Use this silicone on air conditioners, furnaces, refrigeration units, ducts, vents, window and door frames, gutters, siding trim and other HVAC/R connections. Application is straightforward: cut the cartridge tip to the desired bead size, apply smoothly with a caulk gun, and tool the joint for a neat finish; observe manufacturer curing times and conditions.

• Ideal for AC units, ductwork, furnaces, refrigeration, vents and pipes
• Also suitable for skylights, gutters, aluminum siding and trim
• Apply with a standard caulking gun; tool and allow to cure on clean, dry surfaces

Who is this for? Red Devil 0896 is aimed at HVAC professionals, building maintenance teams and skilled homeowners who need a resilient, temperature-tolerant silicone for sealing and joining work. If you install or repair air conditioning, refrigeration, ducting or weather-exposed trim and want a made-in-USA sealant that stays flexible across harsh temperatures, this product is engineered for those applications. Always follow safety and product instructions, and test compatibility on unfamiliar plastics before full application.
