RUST BULLET BlackShell gloss black corrosion preventive coating, 1 qt — durable rust protection, glossy finish

BlackShell by RUST BULLET is a heavy-duty gloss black coating that seals and protects metal and many other surfaces from rust and corrosion while providing a durable, lustrous finish.

BlackShell is formulated to act as a stand-alone protective layer or as a topcoat over RUST BULLET's Standard or Automotive formulas for enhanced chip resistance and longevity. It dries to a classic gloss black sheen and can be applied by brush, roller, or sprayer, making it suitable for tools, equipment, structural metal, and other objects where long-term protection and a finished look are needed.

How does BlackShell protect surfaces from rust and corrosion?

BlackShell creates a tough, continuous film that blocks moisture and oxygen from reaching the underlying material. Used alone it offers strong barrier protection; when layered over RUST BULLET base coatings it increases chip resistance and overall durability.

• Forms a dense, glossy protective layer resistant to everyday wear
• Can be applied to painted or bare metal for immediate protection
• Improves resistance to chips and abrasion when used as a topcoat

What surfaces and projects are ideal for this gloss black coating?

BlackShell is versatile—suitable for automotive parts, trailers, metal gates, machinery housings, and household metalwork. It adheres well to steel, iron, aluminum, and previously painted substrates, bringing both protection and a refined black finish.

• Automotive panels, frames, and underbody components
• Outdoor equipment, trailers, and metal fabrications
• Garden tools, railings, and industrial machinery covers

How do I apply BlackShell for the best results?

Prepare the surface by removing loose rust, oil, and dirt; light abrasion or sanding improves adhesion. Apply by brush, roller, or sprayer in even coats; allow recommended dry times between layers and follow safety and ventilation guidelines during application.

• Clean and degrease surfaces; remove loose scale or rust
• Use brush, roller, or HVLP/airless sprayer for smooth coverage
• Dry times and layer guidance on the product label ensure optimal performance

What finish and maintenance can I expect from BlackShell?

The coating cures to a glossy black surface that resists everyday impacts and cleans easily. Periodic inspection and touch-up of worn areas will preserve protection and appearance over time.

• Gloss black finish for a clean, classic look
• Simple maintenance: wipe clean and touch up chips as needed
• Designed to pair with RUST BULLET base formulas for maximum longevity
