RUST BULLET Metal Blast Rust Remover Spray 24oz — Concentrated Metal Prep & Etching Cleaner for Paint Adhesion

RUST BULLET Metal Blast is a concentrated rust remover and metal prep spray that strips light rust, cleans surfaces, and etches metal to improve paint and coating adhesion.

If you're restoring automotive parts, preparing scrap metal for repainting, or removing surface corrosion before applying a protective coating, Metal Blast offers a fast, spray-on solution. The formula dissolves surface rust and contaminants while leaving a micro-etched surface that helps primers and paints grab hold. It rinses clean and is designed for simple application whether you're working in a garage, workshop, or on a job site.

How does Metal Blast remove rust and what should I expect after use?

Metal Blast works by reacting with surface oxidation and lifting contaminant particles so they can be rinsed or wiped away. After treatment the metal should show a clean, dull finish with microscopic etching that promotes mechanical adhesion of primers and paints.

• Applies as a spray for even coverage and access to intricate areas.
• Breaks down light to moderate surface rust and iron deposits.
• Rinses off or wipes away, leaving no greasy residue.
• Creates a slightly roughened surface ideal for coating adhesion.

What’s the correct way to use this 24oz spray for best results?

Spray the affected area until uniformly wet, allow the product to work a few minutes depending on corrosion severity, then rinse or wipe clean. For heavy rust, repeat applications or mechanical agitation with a brush can improve results.

• Shake container, spray 6–8 inches from the surface for coverage.
• Let sit briefly; monitor until rust is visibly loosening.
• Rinse with water or wipe with a clean cloth; dry before painting.
• Repeat on stubborn spots and use a brush to assist removal if needed.

Can Metal Blast be used as an etching step before primer and paint?

Yes—beyond rust removal, Metal Blast conditions bare metal by creating an etched profile that improves mechanical bonding of primers and topcoats. It’s formulated to leave a prepared surface rather than a smooth, glossy finish.

• Prepares ferrous metals for better primer adhesion.
• Reduces the risk of early coating failures caused by poor surface profile.
• Works well ahead of aerosols, brush-on primers, and spray systems.
• Ensure metal is dry and free of residue before applying paint.

Is Metal Blast safe to use on different metal types and what precautions should I take?

Metal Blast is intended for common ferrous metals and steel surfaces; test on an inconspicuous area when treating aluminum or plated metals. Use standard safety practices—gloves, eye protection, and adequate ventilation—especially when working in confined spaces.

• Compatible primarily with steel and iron; test non-ferrous metals first.
• Avoid prolonged contact with painted or decorative finishes unless removal is intended.
• Wear protective gloves and eyewear, and follow local disposal regulations for rinse water.
• Store upright in a cool, dry place away from direct heat.

Who is this for? Metal Blast is aimed at DIY restorers, auto enthusiasts, metal fabricators, maintenance technicians, and hobbyists needing a reliable surface-prep product. If you restore classic cars, refurbish tools and equipment, or want a straightforward rust-removal and etching step before painting, this 24oz spray gives a convenient, workshop-ready option that simplifies cleanup and improves coating performance.
