SEM Vinyl, Leather & Plastic Cleaner 15oz — Mild Abrasive Foam for Refinishing Prep, Residue-Free Rinse

SEM Soap is a 15oz mild abrasive cleaner designed to lift oils, dust, and water-soluble contaminants as the first step when refinishing flexible surfaces such as vinyl, leather, and plastic.

When preparing interior and trim materials for repair, paint, or refinishing, starting with a cleanser that both loosens contaminants and rinses clean is essential. SEM Soap delivers a foaming action that floats away body oils and other surface soils while providing a gentle abrasive action to prepare the substrate for subsequent adhesion steps. It is formulated specifically for flexible substrates and is not intended for use as a vehicle wash or as a general household cleaner.

How does SEM Soap prepare vinyl, leather, and plastic for refinishing?

SEM Soap combines mild abrasives with a foaming detergent to dislodge particulate matter and dissolve water-soluble soils. The action helps reveal the true surface so primers, dyes, or coatings can bond more reliably.

• Floating foam lifts oils and light grime for easy rinsing
• Mild abrasive particles remove embedded contaminants without harsh scraping
• Leaves a clean, residue-free surface ready for adhesion tests or next prep steps

What makes SEM Soap different from a regular car wash or all-purpose cleaner?

Unlike general-purpose detergents, SEM Soap is formulated specifically for refinishing prep on flexible materials. It targets body oils and water-soluble contaminants while avoiding ingredients that could interfere with adhesives or coatings used later in the process.

• Not recommended as a substitute for vehicle exterior washing
• Avoids residues that can inhibit primer or dye performance
• Balanced for delicate substrates to prevent over-scrubbing or damage

How should I use SEM Soap for the best results?

Apply SEM Soap to the area to be refinished, work into a foam to lift contaminants, then rinse or wipe away thoroughly. For stubborn soils, repeat application or use gentle agitation with a suitable applicator before moving to the next refinishing step.

• Dispense small amount, work into foam, and target contaminated zones
• Rinse or remove lifted residues completely before sanding or coating
• Use appropriate pads or microfiber towels to avoid surface marring

Will SEM Soap harm delicate interior materials?

SEM Soap is formulated to be a mild abrasive, designed for flexible substrates rather than hard panels. When used as directed, it cleans without aggressive solvents; however, test on an inconspicuous area first for sensitive or vintage materials.

• Gentle formulation minimizes risk of surface damage when used properly
• Always test compatibility on hidden areas before full application
• Not intended for fabrics or porous materials that can absorb liquids heavily

Who is this for: SEM Soap 15oz is built for automotive technicians, detailers, and DIY enthusiasts who refurbish dashboards, door panels, seats, and other flexible interior parts. Choose SEM Soap when you need a reliable first-step cleaner that lifts oils and water-soluble soils to expose a clean surface for primers, dyes, or coatings — and avoid using it as a regular car wash or household cleaner.
