StaunchAuto Engine & Cabin Air Filter Combo — Subaru Crosstrek 2.0L 2018–2022, ABS frame & carbon cabin filter

StaunchAuto's Engine & Cabin Air Filter Combo replaces your Crosstrek's engine air filter (16546AA16A) and cabin filter (72880FL00A) to restore clean intake airflow and fresher in-cabin air.

Designed specifically to fit multiple Subaru models including the 2018–2022 Crosstrek 2.0L, this paired solution combines a durable engine filter with a high-performance activated-carbon cabin filter. Together they trap road dust, pollutants, odors and particulates to protect engine performance and improve passenger comfort. The set uses multi-layer filtration, a rigid ABS engine frame, and coconut-shell activated carbon in the cabin element to extend service life and reduce cabin smells.

How does this combo protect my Crosstrek's engine and performance?

The engine filter is built from high-grade filter media supported by a robust ABS frame to prevent collapse and maintain airflow. It captures fine dust and debris before they reach sensitive engine components, helping preserve fuel efficiency and throttle response without restricting intake flow.

• Direct replacement for part number 16546AA16A, engineered to restore factory airflow.
• Sturdy ABS frame resists warping and keeps sealing surfaces tight.
• Multi-layer filter paper catches both coarse and fine particulates.
• Low resistance design maintains engine breathing and performance.

What benefits does the cabin filter provide for passengers?

The cabin filter uses dual-layer media with coconut-shell activated carbon to trap odors, exhaust gases and airborne particles, delivering noticeably fresher air inside the vehicle. Its high-efficiency structure reduces pollen and dust while helping minimize unpleasant smells on city or highway drives.

• Replacement for part number 72880FL00A with fitment for Crosstrek and other Subaru models.
• Activated carbon layer adsorbs odors and harmful gases effectively.
• Secondary layer filters fine particulates, improving cabin air quality.
• Low-resistance layout preserves HVAC airflow and reduces system noise.

How often should I change these filters and what savings can I expect?

StaunchAuto recommends replacing both filters roughly every six months or 12,000 miles under normal driving conditions; replace sooner in dusty or polluted environments. Regular filter maintenance helps avoid clogging that can reduce HVAC performance or stress the engine, offering long-term cost savings compared to repairs caused by neglected intake systems.

• Suggested interval: ~6 months or 12,000 miles under normal use.
• Shorter interval recommended for frequent off-road or dusty driving.
• Routine replacements help prevent reduced air flow and potential system wear.
• Affordable preventative maintenance compared with potential repair costs.

Which Subaru models and engine sizes will this combo fit?
