Tarrago Leather Filling Paste 50ml - Medium Brown #39, paintable flexible leather filler for seats, shoes & upholstery

Tarrago Filling Paste is a 50ml leather and synthetic leather repair compound that fills cracks, cuts, burns and holes to restore a smooth surface ready for recoloring.

This medium-brown #39 filler paste is formulated to blend with genuine and synthetic leathers, providing a uniform base that conceals surface damage and accepts paint once cured. Designed for small-to-medium repairs on car seats, sofas, shoes, bags and apparel, the product offers good filling properties and a texture that harmonizes with the original material. Application is straightforward: clean the area, apply thin layers with a spatula or roller, allow to dry, then finish with colorant for a neat professional look.

How does Tarrago Filling Paste restore worn or damaged leather?

The paste fills depressions, cracks and holes to re-level the leather surface, creating a consistent base for subsequent color repair. It bonds to both genuine and synthetic surfaces and dries to a sandable finish that matches the surrounding texture when painted.

• Fills scratches, tears, burns and small holes for a smooth finish.
• Compatible with most leather and leatherette surfaces.
• Dries to a paintable surface—sandable for seamless blending.
• Leaves a flexible film that moves with the leather.

What’s the best way to apply this leather filler for long-lasting results?

Preparation and thin, layered application are key: remove dirt and loose fibers, then apply multiple thin layers rather than one thick coat to avoid cracking. Allow each layer to dry (approximately 1 hour) and lightly sand if needed before adding the next layer and finally painting.

• Clean the area thoroughly with a suitable leather cleaner.
• Use a spatula or roller to spread thin, even layers.
• Allow roughly one hour drying between layers; sand for smoothness.
• Topcoat with matching leather color for best visual match.

Which surfaces and items are suitable for this medium brown filler?

Designed for both genuine leather and synthetic leather (leatherette), the filler works on a wide range of items from upholstery to footwear. It’s ideal for small to moderate repairs where you need to restore surface continuity before recoloring.

• Car seats, steering wheels and interior trims.
• Sofas, armchairs and dining chairs made of leather or faux leather.
• Boots, shoes, handbags, belts and wallets with surface damage.
• Leather clothing items with cuts or worn patches.

How durable and flexible is the repaired area after using the paste?

Once cured and finished, the filler forms a resilient layer that moves with the leather and resists everyday wear. Proper sanding and color finishing improve abrasion resistance and visual integration, though large structural damage may still require professional restoration.

• Forms a flexible finish that follows material movement.
• When painted and sealed, resists normal friction and use.
• Best for surface restoration—major structural repairs may need stronger solutions.
• Stores well when kept sealed, ready for future touch-ups.
