Traxion Pickup Truck Tailgate Ladder 28–42 in Fit, Black Foldable 300 lb Capacity

The Traxion 5-100 Pickup Truck Tailgate Ladder is a heavy-duty, foldable ladder that mounts to most 28–42 inch tailgates to make truck-bed access safer and easier.

If you regularly load tools, gear, or cargo into a pickup bed, this ladder reduces awkward climbing and jumping by giving you a stable step system that swings into place in seconds and stores compactly against the tailgate when not in use. Constructed for durability and rated to support up to 300 lb total, the Traxion ladder works with many truck models — though it is not compatible with Dodge RamBox, Chevrolet Avalanche, or Cadillac Escalade tailgates. Installation is at-home friendly for most trucks; drill hole placement may vary depending on your tailgate design.

How quickly does the ladder deploy and stow away?

The ladder unfolds and locks into position within seconds, creating an instant access route into the truck bed. When you’re finished, it folds flat against the tailgate to stay out of the way of cargo.

• Swing-out action for fast deployment
• Folds flush to preserve bed space
• Secure locking to prevent accidental movement

Will this ladder fit my pickup tailgate?

Traxion designed this ladder for most tailgates measuring 28 to 42 inches in height. Compatibility varies by model, so measure your tailgate and check exclusions before ordering.

• Compatible range: 28–42 in tailgate height
• Not for use with RamBox, Avalanche, or Escalade tailgates
• Mounting plate uses selected holes; drill holes per instructions

What weight and durability can I expect?

Built from heavy-duty materials and engineered for everyday use, the ladder supports a maximum total weight of 300 lb. It’s intended for frequent loading tasks and rugged conditions without sacrificing stability.

• 300 lb total weight capacity
• Robust hinges and reinforcement for longevity
• Powder-coated black finish resists wear and corrosion

How difficult is the installation process at home?

Most users can install the Traxion ladder with basic tools by following the supplied template and instructions. Note that only some of the mounting plate holes will be used depending on your tailgate, and optimum screw locations may differ by model.

• At-home install with a 0.14 inch drill bit for recommended holes
• Drill up to six holes in optimal locations per tailgate model
• Manufacturer does not provide vehicle-specific installation support

Who this is for: The Traxion 5-100 is intended for pickup owners who need a reliable, space-saving solution to access their truck bed — contractors, tradespeople, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone frequently loading gear. If your vehicle has a RamBox, Avalanche, or Escalade-style tailgate, this model is not suitable. For most other trucks with 28–42 inch tailgates, this ladder adds safer, quicker access while folding away when not needed.
