Ummickl 12" x 48" Aluminized Heat Shield Mat - Adhesive-Backed Reflective Thermal Barrier, High-Temp Insulation

Ummickl's 12" x 48" aluminized adhesive heat shield mat is a flexible, high-temperature reflective barrier designed to protect surfaces from radiant heat and simplify installation with a peel-and-stick backing.

This aluminized thermal blanket combines a reflective outer layer with a woven insulating core and a pressure-sensitive adhesive backing to deliver a compact, easy-to-fit solution for automotive, workshop, and household heat-management needs. Built to reflect the majority of radiant heat and tolerate extreme temperatures, the sheet is intended for use wherever heat-sensitive components, painted finishes, or plastic parts must be shielded from nearby heat sources.

How does this mat reduce heat transfer in vehicles and equipment?

The mat reflects radiant heat away from the protected surface while the insulating core reduces conductive transfer. Its aluminized face acts like a mirror for infrared energy, lowering the thermal load on the substrate behind the mat.

• Reflective aluminized surface reflects up to 97% of radiant heat
• Woven silica/fiberglass core minimizes heat conduction
• Durable under intense temperatures to maintain barrier performance

Where can I apply the adhesive-backed heat shield for best results?

The self-adhesive backing lets you mount the mat to flat or gently curved surfaces without special fasteners. Typical placements include firewall areas, wheel wells, door skins, hood undersides, and cabinetry near stoves or furnaces.

• Automotive: engine bays, exhaust tunnels, floor pans, hood liners
• Home: behind ovens, around water heaters, inside HVAC closets
• Workshops: near furnaces, torch stations, or hot machinery

How durable is the Ummickl heat shield and what temperatures can it withstand?

Constructed with an aluminized exterior and a high-temperature woven insulating core, the mat is engineered to tolerate very high radiant temperatures while retaining flexibility. The material resists degradation where high thermal exposure is expected, maintaining reflectivity and adhesive bond under heat stress.

• Aluminized finish preserves reflectivity over repeated heat cycles
• Woven silica/fiberglass core resists melting or breakdown at elevated temperatures
• Adhesive backing designed for reliable adhesion on clean surfaces

How easy is it to cut and install the heat shield mat?

Installation is straightforward: measure, cut with utility scissors or a blade, peel the liner, and press into place. The flexible sheet conforms to curves and can be wrapped or layered where additional protection is needed.

• Cut-to-fit 12" x 48" panel for custom installations
• Peel-and-stick backing enables fast, tidy application
• Can be overlapped or stacked for extra insulation thickness

Who is this for: The Ummickl aluminized adhesive heat shield mat is aimed at DIY mechanics, auto restorers, fabricators, and homeowners who need a compact, high-performance thermal barrier that installs quickly. If you maintain vehicles, work with hot equipment, or want to protect painted and plastic surfaces from nearby heat sources, this mat offers a practical, durable way to reduce radiant heat exposure without complex tools or permanent modification.
