Wagan 12V Portable Thermoelectric Cooler Warmer — 6 Quart (6L), Compact Car & RV Mini Fridge with Carry Strap

The Wagan EL6206 is a 6-quart portable thermoelectric cooler and warmer that keeps drinks and snacks chilled or heated in cars, RVs, and at campsites using 12/24V power.

This compact electric cooler/warmer combines a lightweight design, a carry strap, and plug-and-play DC power to serve as a small fridge for road trips, tailgates, or overnight stays in an RV. It uses thermoelectric technology instead of refrigerants, so there are no CFCs or compressors; the unit cools to approximately 36°F below ambient temperature and warms up to about 140°F. With internal dimensions designed to hold up to nine 12oz cans, it fits conveniently on car seats, in bunk compartments, or beside a campsite table.

How small is this Wagan cooler and what fits inside?

The EL6206 is built for compact storage without sacrificing usefulness. Its external footprint measures roughly 15 x 11 x 8 inches while the internal storage is 8.1 x 5.3 x 8.1 inches.

• Internal volume: 6 quarts (about 6 liters).
• Holds up to nine 12 oz cans upright.
• Lightweight and shaped for seat, floor, or shelf placement.

Can it both cool and heat, and how quickly does it work?

Yes — the EL6206 offers dual modes for chilling or warming small loads. Thermoelectric cooling lowers interior temperature up to roughly 36°F below surrounding air, while the warming mode reaches near 140°F for hot drinks or meals.

• Cooling: best performance when pre-chilled items are used.
• Heating: suitable for warming food containers or beverages.
• Performance depends on ambient temperature and initial item temperature.

How do I power and carry this mini-fridge on the go?

The EL6206 runs off 12V DC and includes compatibility with 24V systems, making it plug-ready for most cars, trucks, and RV power outlets. A built-in carry strap simplifies moving the unit between vehicle and campsite.

• Works with standard 12V cigarette-style outlets; 24V-compatible for larger vehicles.
• Integrated strap for one-person transport.
• Compact shape fits in cupholder areas, behind seats, or on dashboards when secured.

Is this environmentally friendly and easy to maintain?

The cooler uses thermoelectric technology, so it contains no refrigerant chemicals and has no compressor to service. That means quieter operation and simpler upkeep for routine cleaning and occasional wipe-downs.

• No CFCs or refrigerants — reduced risk of leaks and ozone impact.
• Quiet, vibration-free thermoelectric performance.
• Wipe-clean interior and removable items for simple maintenance.

Who this is for: The Wagan EL6206 suits solo travelers, couples, and small families who need a compact, portable solution for keeping beverages cold or meals warm on short trips, in RV bunks, or at day camps. It appeals to drivers who value lightweight gear, easy transport, and a cord-and-plug setup for use in vehicles without the bulk of compressor fridges.
