Wix Engine Air Filter 46573 for Bluebird Buses & Chevrolet/GMC Vans (2001–2019) — High-Efficiency Pleated Design

The WIX 46573 is a high-efficiency replacement engine air filter engineered to protect and prolong the life of Bluebird buses and Chevrolet/GMC vans from model years 2001–2019.

This replacement air filter is built to trap harmful particles before they enter the engine, using a reinforced media pattern and durable sealing materials. It’s designed as a direct-fit aftermarket part for specific Bluebird school and transit buses, and for many Chevrolet and GMC full-size van applications. The design balances airflow and filtration so engines maintain efficiency while minimizing contamination of internal components.

How does this filter improve engine longevity?

The WIX 46573 reduces the amount of dust and debris that can circulate into an engine’s intake and contaminate lubricating oil. Its shaped pleats and stabilization features increase the surface area available for filtration, letting the filter capture more particles without severely restricting airflow. Cleaner intake air lowers wear on moving parts and helps maintain performance across service intervals.

• Embossed pleat pattern increases filtration area for more particle capture.
• Pleat stabilization beads prevent media collapse under airflow loads.
• Fewer contaminants reaching oil and internal parts reduces wear.

What materials and construction set this filter apart?

This WIX filter uses a heat-resistant plastisol to form reliable top and bottom seals that conform to the housing for a tight fit. The pleated media is stabilized and embossed so it remains evenly spaced and effective over time, even in heavy-duty use. Those construction choices protect both filtration efficiency and the structural integrity of the filter during operation.

• Plastisol seals on both ends ensure a secure, leak-resistant fit.
• Embossed media and pleat stabilization maintain consistent filtration performance.
• Durable components suitable for bus and full-size van duty cycles.

How should I maintain and replace this air filter?

Regularly replacing the engine air filter is a straightforward maintenance step that helps preserve engine efficiency. Check your vehicle owner’s manual for recommended service intervals, and inspect the filter more often if the vehicle operates in dusty or contaminated environments. When replacing, verify fitment using your vehicle details to ensure correct part selection.

• Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended replacement schedule.
• Inspect more frequently in dusty, off-road, or heavy-stop applications.
• Use the part finder or VIN lookup to confirm compatibility before purchase.

Will this fit my bus or van model?

The WIX 46573 is specified for a range of Bluebird buses and many Chevrolet and GMC full-size vans built between 2001 and 2019, but exact fit depends on the vehicle’s intake housing. Always verify fitment by entering year, make, model, and engine into a parts lookup or the seller’s fitment tool. Correct fit ensures the plastisol seals and filter geometry mate properly with the housing.

• Compatible with certain Bluebird bus models and Chevy/GMC van platforms (2001–2019).
• Confirm using vehicle year, make, model, and engine before ordering.
• Proper fit prevents leaks and preserves expected filtration performance.

Who is this for? The WIX 46573 is intended for fleet managers, bus operators, and van owners who need a reliable replacement air filter that balances airflow with robust particulate capture. It’s particularly useful for vehicles that operate under heavy-duty conditions or in dusty environments where maintaining clean intake air is essential for dependable service life. Choose this part when you need a direct-fit filtration solution with reinforced seals and stabilized pleats to support consistent engine protection.
