Aaiov 26" RV Awning Gas Struts Pair (280343) for Short Flat Arms — 124 lb Support, Includes 8 Washers

The Aaiov 280343 is a 26" gas-assisted RV awning strut pair built to restore smooth extension and secure support for short, flat awning arms rated up to 124 pounds.

This two-piece set of Aaiov gas struts replaces worn or weak pistons in Solera-style power and manual awnings, helping your RV canopy open and close reliably. Each strut measures 26.50" fully extended and 15.05" when retracted, and the kit includes eight retaining washers for a straightforward swap. A one-year warranty covers manufacturing faults; confirm compatibility with your existing model before ordering.

How will these gas struts improve my awning's performance?

Replacing tired struts with Aaiov 280343 pistons brings back controlled opening and firmer support, reducing sag and uneven movement. Because they are gas-charged, they supply consistent assist throughout the stroke for smoother operation and reduced strain on motors and arms.

• Restores steady extension and retraction to short, flat awning arms
• Supports up to 124 lbs to prevent droop or imbalance
• Reduces load on electric motors for longer component life
• Includes retention hardware for an easier installation

Will the 26" size fit my Solera or universal awning arms?

The Aaiov 280343 is designed for short and flat-arm assemblies and is compatible with many Solera and universal awning systems used in both power and manual configurations. Measure your current strut’s extended and retracted lengths and compare mounting points to confirm fit before purchase.

• Extended length: 26.50"; retracted length: 15.05"
• Intended for shorter, flat awning arm geometries
• Works with many Solera universal awnings (verify model compatibility)
• Check mounting hardware alignment and travel clearance

How difficult is installation and what’s included in the kit?

Installation is typically a basic mechanical swap requiring common hand tools; an extra set of hands helps align the arm while fitting the strut. The package comes with two Aaiov 280343 gas struts and eight retaining washers so you can replace both sides and secure new connections without sourcing additional parts.

• Two 26" gas struts for left and right awning arms
• Eight retaining washers for secure mounting
• No special tools required beyond standard sockets and pliers
• Simple bolt-on replacement for most short-arm assemblies

What should I watch for to maintain long life from these pistons?

Proper installation, correct mounting alignment, and avoiding exposure to harsh debris prolong operation of gas struts. Periodically inspect pivot points and washers for wear, keep connection points clean, and replace both sides at once to maintain balanced support.

• Inspect retaining washers and replace if deformed or corroded
• Keep pivot mounts free of dirt and salt to reduce wear
• Avoid forcing the awning beyond its designed travel range
• Replace struts in matched pairs for consistent support

Who is this for: RV owners and service technicians who need a durable, direct-replacement gas strut for short, flat awning arms—especially those using Solera or universal awnings—seeking a reliable 26" piston with 124 lb support capacity and included mounting washers for a convenient swap. If you’re unsure about compatibility, measure your existing hardware and consult your awning’s specifications before ordering.
