AP Products Versachem 90214 is a two-part epoxy repair kit that permanently seals gasoline, diesel and kerosene tank leaks up to 1/2" without removing the tank.
This compact 30 gram kit combines resin and hardener to create a heat-curing, chemical-resistant patch designed for quick field repairs on plastic and metal tanks, radiators and oil pans. The mixture reaches full handling strength in minutes and offers a tensile strength rated at 1500 PSI, making it suitable for common fuel-system damage such as pinholes, hairline cracks and rust-outs. The formula is engineered to resist fuel and petroleum products and holds across a practical operating temperature range.
Repairs can be finished in under 20 minutes from mix to initial cure when you are prepared and working on a clean surface. Because the resin and hardener are supplied in separate compartments, you should arrange tools and area beforehand so mixing and application are uninterrupted.
The kit repairs pinholes, hairline cracks, rust-throughs and holes up to 1/2" diameter in fuel tanks, radiators and oil pans. It performs best when applied to clean, dry surfaces and is not intended for structural repairs that require welding or factory replacement.
Yes — once cured the Versachem compound resists gasoline, diesel and kerosene and stays functional across typical engine-bay temperatures. The specified operating range is 40°F to 200°F, which covers most automotive and small-engine applications.
For a reliable bond, clean the repair area thoroughly of fuel, oil, rust and loose paint. Roughen smooth plastics or metal surfaces with abrasive paper, dry completely, then mix the resin and hardener thoroughly and apply before the adhesive starts to set.
Who is this for: The Versachem 90214 kit is aimed at DIY mechanics, fleet technicians and anyone needing a fast, durable fix for minor fuel-tank or radiator leaks without specialized shop equipment. It’s a practical emergency or maintenance item for cars, motorcycles, lawn equipment and small engines where replacing the tank or welding is impractical or time-consuming.
Q: Can this kit be used without removing the fuel tank?
A: Yes. The kit is designed to repair tanks in place for many leaks, avoiding tank removal for small holes and cracks.
Q: Will the repair resist gasoline and diesel?
A: Yes. Once cured the epoxy is resistant to gasoline, diesel and kerosene within its 40°F–200°F operating range.
