Bosch QuietCast Ceramic Rear Disc Brake Pads BC1456 — Low-Dust with Molded-Shim Noise Control

BOSCH BC1456 QuietCast Premium Ceramic Disc Brake Pad Set (rear) delivers OE-quality stopping power with molded shim noise control, corrosion-resistant backing plates, and low-dust ceramic friction for two wheels.

Designed from Bosch’s decades-long braking expertise, the QuietCast BC1456 rear pad set combines engineered ceramic friction material with pre-attached multilayer rubber-core shims and powder-coated backing plates to balance stopping performance, noise reduction, and long life. Each axle set includes both pads, the available hardware kit, and synthetic lubricant for smoother caliper movement. Fitment covers a range of Audi and Volkswagen models; always confirm compatibility with your vehicle using a fit checker before purchase.

How do these pads reduce noise compared with standard replacements?

The Bosch QuietCast pads use Molded Shim Technology (MST) with factory-style multilayer rubber-core shims bonded to the pad backing. This construction dampens vibration at the pad-to-caliper interface, cutting typical brake squeal and chirp while preserving firm pedal feel. Quiet operation is achieved without adding bulky aftermarket materials that can affect fit.

• Pre-attached OE-style multilayer rubber-core shims for superior vibration damping
• Molded Shim Technology prevents separation that causes noise over time
• Precision bonding maintains consistent contact and pedal responsiveness

What performance can I expect from the ceramic friction material?

Bosch engineers formulated the QuietCast ceramic compound to deliver predictable friction characteristics across a wide temperature range. Expect solid stopping power suitable for daily driving with lower dust output than many semi-metallic options, which helps wheels stay cleaner. The blend aims to balance longevity with consistent bite and fade resistance under normal driving conditions.

• Ceramic compound engineered for steady deceleration and pedal consistency
• Lower brake dust compared to typical semi-metallic pads
• Designed for everyday driving demands and extended pad life

How does Bosch protect the pad from corrosion and ensure a reliable fit?

The BC1456 pads feature powder-coated backing plates that resist rust and environmental wear, helping preserve pad integrity and service life. OE-style slots and chamfers are incorporated to match factory fit and reduce edge noise, ensuring smooth installation and proper caliper operation. Where provided, included hardware and lubricant reduce installation fuss and minimize sliding resistance at contact points.

• Powder-coated backing plates for corrosion resistance and longer life
• OE-style slots and chamfers for correct fit and reduced edge noise
• Hardware kit and synthetic lubricant included (where applicable) for easier installation

Which vehicles does the BC1456 set fit and what should I verify before ordering?

The BC1456 rear pad set is listed for select Audi and Volkswagen models from roughly 2010–2016, including many A3, A4, Beetle, Eos, Golf, GTI, Jetta, and Passat variants. Trim level, engine, and axle options can affect compatibility, so use your vehicle’s year, make, model and VIN or the site fit checker to confirm proper application. This avoids returns and ensures the pads mate correctly with your existing rotors and calipers.

• Commonly fits select Audi A3/A4 and VW Beetle, Eos, Golf, GTI, Jetta, Passat models
• Verify trim level and axle configuration with fit checker or VIN lookup
• Set covers one axle (two wheels); replace full axle for matched braking balance

Who is this for: The Bosch BC1456 QuietCast rear ceramic pad set is intended for drivers who want a factory-quality replacement that prioritizes quiet operation, low dust, and reliable day-to-day stopping—especially owners of compatible Audi or Volkswagen models seeking a near-OE fit and finish without sacrificing long-term durability.
