Camco Power Grip Offset Adapter 50A to 30A RV - Molded Handle, Strain-Relief Design

Camco's Power Grip Offset Adapter converts a 50-amp pedestal to a 30-amp RV connection while reducing cord stress and making plug-in/out simple.

When you arrive at a campsite with a 50-amp pedestal but your coach or accessories use a 30-amp plug, the Camco Power Grip Offset Adapter (model 55135) provides a safe, compact bridge. Built for RV use, its offset housing repositions the plug to cut strain on the receptacle and cord, and the molded Power Grip handle gives you a sure hold when connecting or removing power. Rugged construction and a space-saving footprint make it a practical addition to any RV toolbox.

How does the offset design protect my RV power cord and pedestal?

The adapter’s offset layout shifts the weight and angle of the plugged connection away from the pedestal face, which lowers pressure on the cord and the pedestal terminals. That reduces wiggle, bending and the chance of loose connections during windy or uneven campsite conditions.

• Offset housing repositions plug to relieve strain on the cord.
• Less lateral pressure on pedestal receptacles; minimizes wear.
• Improves contact stability when campers or pets bump the cable.

Will this adapter work with my 30-amp RV equipment and dogbones?

Yes — the Camco Power Grip Offset Adapter is designed specifically to adapt a 50-amp shore power source to standard 30-amp RV cords, extension cords and dogbones. It accepts typical 30-amp male plugs and provides a secure 50-amp female inlet for campground pedestals.

• Converts 50A inlet to 30A outlet for RV use.
• Compatible with common 30-amp RV cords and accessories.
• Suitable for powering RVs, small converters and 30-amp devices.

How easy is it to install, carry, and store this adapter?

The molded Power Grip handle makes plugging and unplugging much easier, even with gloves or in wet conditions. Its compact dimensions (about 6 1/8" x 4 1/8" x 2 3/8") let it fit into storage compartments without adding bulk, and the single-piece construction keeps maintenance minimal.

• Power Grip handle for secure, ergonomic removal.
• Small footprint fits most RV storage bins and cubbies.
• Single included adapter—no assembly required.

Is this adapter safe for regular RV use?

Built for campground and RV applications, the adapter is engineered to maintain a stable electrical connection while reducing mechanical stress; however, always inspect connections for damage and follow campground electrical safety rules. Avoid running equipment that exceeds the 30-amp circuit rating.

• Designed for RV electrical environments and repeated use.
• Reduces mechanical wear that can lead to poor connections.
• Not a substitute for adapters rated above 30 amps or permanent rewiring.

Who is this for: RV owners, weekend campers, and those who frequently move between sites with different pedestal types will benefit most from the Camco Power Grip Offset Adapter. If you use 30-amp appliances or run a small RV that needs to connect to a 50-amp pedestal occasionally, this compact adapter simplifies hookups, protects cords, and makes power connections faster and more reliable.
