Dupli-Color Vinyl & Fabric Spray — Medium Gray, 11 oz Aerosol for Flexible, High-Adhesion Interior Coatings

Dupli-Color Vinyl & Fabric Spray in Medium Gray is an adhesion-enhanced aerosol coating designed to restore or recolor interior vinyl, plastic, and rubber surfaces without primer.

This 11 oz aerosol delivers a fast-drying, flexible finish made to bond to dashboards, seats, door panels, shifter boots and consoles. The formula includes a maximum adhesion promoter so it adheres directly to common interior materials and resists cracking, peeling, and flaking for a longer-lasting appearance. It’s formulated for automotive interiors but also works on household vinyl and some plastics for light customizations and repairs.

How do I prepare the surface for the best bond?

Proper surface prep ensures the coating adheres and lasts. Clean the area thoroughly, remove oils, waxes, and loose particles, and scuff smooth, glossy areas lightly to give the coating mechanical grip.

• Use a mild detergent or dedicated vinyl cleaner to remove dirt and grease.
• Wipe with isopropyl alcohol for final degreasing.
• Lightly sand glossy or hard plastic surfaces with fine-grit paper if necessary.
• Mask surrounding parts to prevent overspray.

What coverage and drying times should I expect?

An 11 oz can covers small- to medium-size interior areas; multiple light coats give the best results. The spray is formulated to dry quickly between coats, allowing you to build durable coverage without long wait times.

• Apply several thin coats rather than one heavy coat to avoid runs.
• Tack-free in minutes; allow longer cure time for heavy use areas.
• Coverage varies with texture—smooth surfaces cover more efficiently than deeply grained vinyl.
• Follow manufacturer's recommended recoat intervals for best adhesion.

Will the finish stay flexible and resist peeling on seats and boots?

The product is formulated to remain flexible after curing so it moves with vinyl, rubber, and some plastics instead of cracking. It’s designed to resist peeling and flaking under normal interior use, extending the visual life of restored panels and trim.

• Formulated with an adhesion promoter to bond to flexible substrates.
• Designed to resist everyday wear from sitting and handling.
• Not intended for high-friction or exterior contact zones without testing first.
• For best durability, follow recommended application and cure times.

How can I match existing interior color and texture?

Medium Gray provides a neutral, factory-style color suitable for many interiors; matching depends on lighting and original material. Test the spray on a hidden area to confirm color and texture compatibility before completing the project.

• Spray a sample patch in comparable lighting to check color match.
• Use light, even coats to preserve original grain patterns when possible.
• Consider blending edges or using multiple thin layers for smooth transitions.
• Keep extra product for future touch-ups to maintain consistent color.

It’s ideal for repairing scuffs, recoloring trim, and giving dashboards, door panels, shifters and seats a renewed factory-like finish when proper surface prep and application techniques are followed.
