Wix 57398 Oil Filter replacement for Onan engines — Synthetic & High‑Mileage compatible, silicone anti‑drainback

WIX 57398 is a premium replacement oil filter engineered for synthetic and high‑mileage oils to protect engines in demanding conditions and fit many Onan applications.

Built with a synthetic‑blended media and high‑capacity internals, the WIX 57398 is designed to trap contaminants, prevent dry starts, and provide extended service intervals. It meets or exceeds original equipment standards and includes a silicone anti‑drainback valve to keep oil in the filter when the engine stops. This filter is intended for drivers who use synthetic or high‑mileage oil and need reliable protection during towing, stop‑and‑go driving, or long highway runs.

How does the WIX 57398 protect my engine during heavy use?

The WIX 57398 uses an advanced blended filtration media that captures very small particles and keeps them away from engine components. Its high dirt‑holding capacity reduces bypass risk and helps maintain consistent oil flow under load.

• 99% efficiency at 26 microns on tested media (WIX 51515 protocol).
• High‑capacity design holds more contaminants between changes.
• Meets or exceeds OE filtration and flow standards.

Will this filter work with synthetic or high‑mileage oils?

Yes — the 57398 is formulated to be compatible with both synthetic and high‑mileage motor oils, so it performs well with modern oil chemistries and extended‑interval service plans. It’s engineered to maintain filtration efficiency across longer drain intervals when used with compatible oils.

• Designed for synthetic blends and full synthetics.
• Suitable for extended service intervals up to recommended limits.
• Constructed to resist breakdown from oil additives.

What features prevent dry starts and maintain oil pressure?

The filter includes a silicone anti‑drainback valve that keeps oil inside the filter when the engine is off, reducing wear from dry starts. Internal bypass and sealing components are sized to ensure reliable oil flow even in cold starts or high‑vacuum conditions.

• Silicone anti‑drainback valve retains oil after shutdown.
• Internal bypass protects engine if the filter becomes restricted.
• Durable end caps and adhesive resist flow path degradation.

How do I confirm fitment for my vehicle or Onan application?

Always verify compatibility before purchase using your vehicle’s year, make, model, or specific Onan part cross reference. WIX provides a part finder to match the 57398 to engines and generator models to ensure proper thread, gasket size, and clearance.

• Use the online part finder with vehicle or equipment details.
• Check thread size, gasket diameter, and overall length for fit.
• Compare to original filter part numbers for exact replacements.

Who is this for: The WIX 57398 is aimed at drivers and equipment owners who run synthetic or high‑mileage oils and demand dependable protection under strenuous conditions—towing, long idle periods, frequent short trips, or generator service with Onan engines. If you need robust filtration, anti‑drainback protection, and extended service capability that meets OE standards, this filter is a practical choice.
