AP Astro ADR14 XL Drill-to-Rivet Adapter Kit 1/4" Capacity — CNC Billet Aluminum, Japanese Bearings

The AP Astro ADR14 XL Blind Rivet Adapter Kit converts a cordless, corded, or pneumatic drill into a high-capacity power pop riveter with 1/4" maximum mandrel capacity.

This compact adapter is CNC machined from a single solid aluminum billet and fitted with precision Japanese bearings to deliver smooth, repeatable riveting action without adding bulky weight. It accepts multiple nosepieces so you can set up for common rivet diameters in steel, aluminum, copper and limited stainless applications. The ADR14 XL is designed for tradespeople, fabricators and DIYers who need a fast, portable way to set blind rivets with a standard drill motor.

What rivet sizes and materials will this kit handle?

The ADR14 XL includes interchangeable nosepieces to cover a wide range of common rivet diameters and works with most soft metals as well as some stainless. Use the correct nosepiece and match rivet material to your project for best results.

• Nosepiece sizes included: 3/32", 1/8", 5/32", 3/16", 7/32", and 1/4".
• Suitable for steel, aluminum, copper; stainless up to 7/32".
• Accepts rivet bodies up to approximately 0.9–1.0" in length with a maximum stroke around 0.7".

How does it attach to and work with my drill?

The adapter couples to the drill’s chuck and converts rotational drive into the pull stroke required to set blind rivets. Its robust internal bearings and machined body are built to withstand the thrust forces generated during riveting while keeping the unit compact and easy to handle.

• Fits into most standard drill chucks—cordless, corded or pneumatic drills.
• Japanese bearings reduce internal friction for smoother operation.
• Solid billet aluminum construction resists bending under load.

What maintenance and usage tips help prevent jamming?

Routine cleaning and light lubrication make a big difference when using the ADR14 XL, especially with soft rivet materials that tend to leave residue. If a stem sticks regularly, switching to the next larger nosepiece improves release without forceful disassembly.

• Use a light spray lubricant periodically to reduce sticking on soft rivets.
• Clear debris from the nose and mandrel path after each session.
• Do not disassemble the unit to extract a stuck stem—use the next nosepiece size instead.

Which jobs benefit most from this adapter kit?

The ADR14 XL is ideal when you need rivet-setting speed and portability without a separate rivet gun. It’s especially useful on job sites, in tight work areas, or when converting a single drill to handle multiple fastening tasks quickly.

• Field repairs and on-site metalwork where bringing a rivet gun is impractical.
• Automotive, HVAC, sheet metal and general fabrication tasks.
• Home projects where a multi-tool approach reduces tool clutter.

Who is this for: The AP Astro ADR14 XL is aimed at professionals and serious hobbyists who want a durable, portable rivet-conversion for their existing drills. If you frequently set blind rivets of common diameters and need a dependable, compact adapter built from solid materials with precision bearings, this kit delivers versatility and easy setup. It’s not a replacement for specialized hydraulic riveters in extreme heavy-duty production environments, but it provides a high-performance, space-saving alternative for most shop and field applications.
