Mann Filter engine air filter C 22 018 — OE-fit for BMW X1/X2/228i & MINI Cooper, water-resistant

The Mann Filter C 22 018 is a direct-fit engine air filter engineered to protect intake systems and help maintain consistent performance in BMW X1/X2/228i and compatible MINI Cooper models.

Designed as an original-equipment-quality replacement, this Mann Filter element keeps combustion air free from damaging particles while preserving airflow. It uses reinforced pleat construction, a water- and flame-resistant filter medium, and a secure gasket profile to match factory housings. That combination helps engines run reliably across varied driving conditions and simplifies maintenance for owners of European compact cars.

How does this air filter protect my engine?

The C 22 018 traps dust, pollen, and road debris before they can enter the intake, reducing wear on internal components and sensors. Its high-efficiency media separates contaminants while keeping flow resistance low to help the engine breathe properly.

• Fine, high-separation filter media limits particle ingress.
• Embossed pleats resist deformation at high airflow.
• Durable gasket ensures a tight seal to prevent bypass.

Will this fit my BMW or MINI without modifications?

Yes — Mann designs the C 22 018 to the original equipment housing profile for a direct swap in compatible BMW X1, X2, 228i and MINI Cooper, Clubman, Countryman models. Fitment avoids gaps and readjustments, so installation is straightforward for DIYers and technicians alike.

• OE-matching dimensions for correct seating in the airbox.
• Consistent gasket contour for a factory-style seal.
• No trimming or adapters required in supported models.

What materials and technology are used in this filter?

The C 22 018 combines flame-retardant, water-resistant filter media with Mann’s glue-string pleat stabilizing method and embossed pleat pattern. These features maintain even pleat spacing, preserve structural integrity at high speeds, and resist moisture during damp conditions.

• Water-resistant media to reduce performance loss in wet driving.
• Glue String Technology secures pleats, preventing bunching.
• Embossed pleats enhance stiffness and airflow consistency.

How often should I replace the Mann Filter C 22 018?

Replacement intervals vary by driving environment, but replacing the air filter at regular service intervals keeps intake airflow and filtration efficiency optimal. Inspect during scheduled maintenance and sooner if you drive frequently on dusty roads.

• Check filter at every routine service or oil change.
• Replace sooner in dusty, off-road, or high-pollution areas.
• Follow vehicle manufacturer recommendations for interval guidance.

Who is this for: Owners and technicians of BMW X1, X2, 228i and MINI Cooper/Clubman/Countryman models seeking an OE-quality replacement air filter that balances filtration efficiency with low flow restriction. The Mann Filter C 22 018 suits drivers who want reliable protection for intake components, straightforward fitment without modifications, and durable construction built to withstand wet and high-flow conditions. It’s a practical upgrade or direct replacement when servicing European compact vehicles.
