VViViD Black Gloss Air-Release Vinyl Tape 3" x 20ft — Repositionable, Bubble-Resistant Trim Tape

This 3-inch by 20-foot roll from VViViD delivers a glossy black finish with built-in air-release channels and a heat-activated, repositionable adhesive that simplifies application. Designed for automotive and architectural detailing, the tape combines a sleek look with practical durability for exterior and interior surfaces.

How does this tape make chrome deletes and pinstriping easier?

The roll is sized and finished specifically for trim work, eliminating waste from oversized sheets and avoiding the need for knifeless tools. Its air-release adhesive reduces trapped air and wrinkles, while being liftable during positioning so you can reposition strips without ruining the finish.

• Pre-cut 3" width fits many trim and molding profiles without trimming.
• Air-release channels expel bubbles for smooth laydown.
• Repositionable adhesive allows precise alignment before final heat set.
• High-gloss surface mimics factory black trim for seamless appearance.

Will this tape hold up outdoors and resist wear?

VViViD engineered the film to resist scratches, grime, and common weathering, giving a long-lasting appearance suitable for exterior vehicle trim and architectural accents. Expected longevity is generally 5–7 years under normal outdoor conditions, depending on exposure and maintenance.

• Scratch- and dirt-resistant finish keeps the look cleaner longer.
• UV-stable gloss reduces premature fading when maintained properly.
• Durable vinyl formulation resists cracking and lifting over time.

How do I apply and ensure a durable bond?

Application is straightforward: clean the surface, position the tape while adhesive is still repositionable, and then use heat to activate the adhesive for a permanent bond. Use a squeegee and a heat gun or torch to conform the vinyl to curves and edges and to set the adhesive fully.

• Prep surface thoroughly — remove wax, oil, and dirt for best adhesion.
• Lay the tape and reposition as needed before applying heat.
• Apply consistent heat to activate adhesive and conform to contours.
• Trim excess with a sharp blade for precise edges and corners.

Can I use this tape on other projects besides cars?

Yes—the glossy black finish and clean edge make this tape a versatile choice for interior design, signage accents, window frames, and small architectural details. Its durability and clean aesthetic are useful wherever a narrow, high-gloss black trim is desired.

• Architectural accents like window or door trim.
• Custom sign edging and graphic highlights.
• Marine or recreational vehicles where black trim is needed.
• DIY projects requiring narrow, durable black vinyl strips.
